Here's the steps…

Design it in the app

Open the built-in Card Designer, drop in your logo, colours and QR. It exports print-ready A6 artwork — which is exactly why the acrylic holders below fit like a glove.

Print it

Send the artwork to Vistaprint (or any printer). I go for double-sided flat cards in A6 — smart, sturdy, and cheap by the pack.

Stand it & tap it

Slot each card into an A6 acrylic holder on the tables and booth. Stick a programmed NFC tag on the back so guests can tap as well as scan.

From the DJ who built it

I'm a working DJ. For years every gig kicked off the same way — a crumpled sheet of paper full of songs the client had requested, half of it I couldn't read, and then people shouting requests over the music all night while I tried to remember who asked for what.

There had to be a better way, so I built one. mysongrequest.uk took the paper out of it and turned requests into something the whole room actually enjoys — guests scan, request and vote, the couple fill in their must-plays before the day, and I get one clean list I'm in full control of.

I've been running it at my own gigs for a few months now and, honestly, I couldn't go back. It's made me look more professional, kept the dancefloor happier, and given me a single screen to run the whole night from.

Questions, answered

Do my guests need to download an app?

Nope. They scan your QR (or tap an NFC tag), a web page opens, they request. Works on any phone, no install, no login.

What if the venue Wi-Fi is rubbish?

Guests use their own mobile data to load the page — they're not on your booth setup. As long as they've got a bar or two of signal, they're away.

Can I stop rude or silly requests?

Yes — everything's approve-first, there's an auto profanity filter, a Do-Not-Play list, one-tap blocking, and an optional 4-digit PIN so only people in the room can request. Nothing plays without you.

I already use DJ Event Planner — is this any use?

Even better. Connect your DJEP account once and import a gig's whole client song list in seconds. Or just import a spreadsheet — no lock-in.

Is it really everything for £10?
